Hi,

I have found error "Service control manager one of the service do not start during startup".
When i check event view then found "IIS ADMIN service fail to start"
Then i did try start manually then found one new error "Could not start the IIS Admin Service on Local Computer"
I have also try to check and restart dependency service, but does not get success.

Someone found the solution for it.

Thanks

admin

This error usually occurs when the MetaBase.xml file is either missing or has been corrupted in IIS 6.
If you have already backup of this file then you can recovery the file. But further if you don't have backup file then you can also solved this problem by following below step.

Method 1:-
Try to restart once again dependency service of IIS admin service find by property of IIS service or
Service Name   Display Name
iisadmin           IIS Admin Service
Msftpsvc           FTP Publishing Service
Nntpsvc            Microsoft NNTP Service
Smtpsvc           Microsoft SMTP Service
W3svc              World Wide Web Publishing Service

  • Also try to start or restart service from command prompt like for "World wide web publishing service" type NET START W3SVC. Or you can also find all command list for service start or stop from registry "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services"

  • System Restart

Method 2:-
How to repair or recover "metabase.xml" file

  • Default location of this file - C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\

  • Find the file rename to other like "old_metabase.xml"

  • Windows server by default auto create latest 10 backup in history folder,

  • History folder :- C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\History\

  • Find this file "MetaBase_0000000XXXX_0000000000.xml" [Note - XXX its digit]

  • Copy this file and rename to "metabase.xml"

  • Paste in to - C:\WINDOWS\system32\inetsrv\ folder

  • Now restart you system and your IIS will working file
